Aaron played in the Treasure Cove Classic disc golf tournament on Saturday held at the beautiful campus of Iowa Western Community College.

Hosted by one of the best in the biz, Mike, the tournament boasted some difficult shots but promised a great layout and hefty prize package.

The morning began at 9am.

There were 15 professional players in the Open Division. After round one Aaron was tied with Travis Blase for first place at 55*.

As soon as the first round scores were posted online, members of Aaron's online disc community replied,

"Go Brooker! " and "Congrats Aaron. Some amazing shots I'm sure."

After lunch round two began.
Aaron was strong from the start, but a couple less than perfect shots allowed Blase to pull ahead.

"I tried to put some pressure on Blase the second round, but that guy had no chinks in his armor" Aaron said.

The tournament finished around 5:00 pm (long day, huh?). One by one, teams turned in their score cards. Scores were tallied, great shots of the day were retold over again and everyone sat together awaiting the final results.

Final Results: Open Division

Quite a performance!
Aaron came home with $400 cash for winning second place!

To celebrate we had a date night at Upstream. It was a wonderful evening!

*True story: Aaron dreamt on Friday, the night before the tournament, that he shot a 55 after the first round. No lie. The wierd thing is that in his dream, Sarah Palin also shot a 55 and he was really upset that she tied had with him.

Isn't that funny!

Hey everybody.

We love our new table. Sleek. Stylish. [Plenty of] Seating.
Now, what to do with the former, also stylish, table ... that is the question.

To confess, we thought for sure the table and chairs would sell as soon as we posted online.
But, as you can see ... not the case.

Here it is, clogging up the corner of our living room.

If you, or anyone you know in Omaha, is looking for a dining set do let us know.
We're asking $300 for the set.

This tree ...

and these walnuts ...

have lured a small, cunning creature into our midst.

A boy are they busy!

Morning, afternoon and evening you can hear our squirrel friends knawing on walnuts.

If you stick around long enough you can watch them break apart the outer shell

and nibble away at the insides.

But, most times, the walnut simply drops to the ground (now grass :) ) and they retrieve it and carry it away in their mouth to their secret place (no doubt filled to the brim with walnuts).

Hard to say how long this will last. At least until it gets cold I would think.
And yes, I have more to do than watch squirrels but I didn't want to miss out on the chance to show you guys the action around here!
I guess you'll just have to come visit to see it for yourself!
Plenty of seating and accomodation awaits you!

How many rolls of sod can you fit in the back of a Taurus?
Well, today I found out that 16 fit just fine. A little messy, but we got 'em all in!

Aaron is leaving tomorrow for a disc golf tournament in McCook. We really wanted to get some grass going in our yard before we got too far into September and we decided that sod was the way to go.

I picked up the sod...

and we got to work leveling and raking the existig, ahem, wet dirt.

Roll by roll we carried the sod proudly to the front yard.
Even before we laid it down we knew it was going to look good!

We have plans for landscaping near the fence and around the walnut tree and we ended up with the just the right amount of sod for our "section of yard" today.
What do you think?
We're pleased with the project and wouldn't have done anything differently, well, expect maybe not wear our flip flops in the mud.
All's well that ends well! More photos to come!

We now have seating for six! We found our dining room table on Craigslist and, although we were sad to say goodbye to the round table, we knew we wanted more seating.

Thanks to Brian and Christy from West-O. They gave us a great deal and we look forward to using it to its full potential!
So, wanna come over?

Thanks to Bonnie at The Icon Hair Studio in Omaha I love my haircut.
Bonnie was the same gal who salvaged Aaron's hair after dreads. Remember?

I knew she could handle my my 'do.
Piecy. Wavy. Funky. I think she got what I was going for.

Our yard looks good!

Well, it technically doesn't look good at all, but, compared to what it looked like before "Slave Away Labor Day" came around --whoa buddy.

2.5 days and 2 trips to Lowes -- look what we accomplished.

We love our house! When we first moved it felt great to have our stuff the right room ... but just because our stuff was in didn't mean it felt quite like home.

We had no other option but to rearrange and repeat as necessary :)
Here are some photos of our efforts.
